Where did the Money Go?
So we survived the winter blizzard of 2010, and the un-communicated long cold waits for the Regional Rail, in this case the R2-Newark to/from Philadelphia. We must ask ourselves, “Why does SEPTA use TRAIN VIEW?, especially since one train was around 50 minutes late, while TRAIN VIEW said it was on time? Or, “Why can’t we buy our monthly train and parking passes together online?” Or, “When on earth will the new Silverliner Vs, the latest railcars, be ready to ride on?”.
Not really sure if the issues lies with SEPTA’s current regime in charge, or perhaps, some misguidance of past management, who abused their spending. Or, can it be that they really are not assisted with more funding as they should be? In the year 2010 we can do just about anything online. And, while it is nice to know that many SEPTA jobs will never be eliminated, because of the human factor involved in public transportation, it still seems fair to ask, “Why are they so antiquated, and behind the times?”
There is a missing presence of e-commerce tools that we would think SEPTA could take advantage of online, like the ones I previously mentioned that do not exist, or exist and are not used properly. Somebody, at sometime, and somewhere, in the SEPTA organization dropped the ball on the way to making progression. Do we know what happened? Who was, or is, responsible for SEPTA’s present day condition of being in the Dark Ages?
